Health Academy are pleased to offer a series of practical face-to-face flu training workshops in various locations throughout the country. These workshops will allow immunisers to be compliant with practical immunisation skills in line with NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) guidelines.
Who are these face-to-face flu training workshops suitable for?
These face-to-face flu training workshops are perfect for both new and experienced immunisers. If you’re an experienced immunising pharmacist, nurse, or healthcare support worker, this course will help you update and refresh your immunisation skills. Completing the course will also ensure you comply with the practical immunisation update guidelines set by NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I).
However, if you’re a new immuniser, you should add our online “New Immunisers’ Foundation Course” during checkout to be fully compliant with national minimum standards outlined by NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I).
So what flu vaccines and modules have we included in the training?
The following topics are included in the session:
- Introduction to Seasonal Influenza
- The UK Annual Flu Programme 2023/24
- Injection technique (IM & SC) practical session
- Basic Life Support practical session
- Management of anaphylaxis and use of adrenaline
- Current issues in immunisation
- Update on vaccine ordering, storage and administration
- Any changes to legislation relevant to vaccination
- Q&A session for problems encountered in practice

How long do the face-to-face flu training 2023/24 workshops last?
We have scheduled AM and PM sessions. The sessions will run for 3.5hrs therefore, either starting at 9.00am or 1.30pm depending on which course you select.
Standard session times are:
- Morning: 9.00 – 12.30
- Afternoon: 13.30 – 17.00
Birmingham session times are:
- Morning: 10.00 – 13.30
- Afternoon: 14.00 – 17.30
