This course gives an overview of the GDPR in the UK, focusing on its relevance to the Education sector and the importance of protecting children’s data. It has been designed specifically for nurseries, schools, and colleges.

SECTION 1

Processing Personal Data is what the GDPR is all about and so it’s important that you know what it’s referring to. This section will give you an understanding of the background information you need to know about the GDPR, including what personal data is, what processing is, controllers, processors, and data subjects & the ICO.

SECTION 2

The Principles of the GDPR embody the spirit of the Regulation and so it’s important that you’re familiar with them. Following them is essential and failing to do so can result in some of the harshest fines allowed under the Regulation. There are 7 principles in total which we’re going to look at in the rest of this section.
