Our Prevent Duty Training Course aims supports those working in Education with their duty in the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 and to prevent children from being drawn into terrorism and radicalisation. It will also equip staff with the right tools to deal with any direct threats of radicalisation or terrorism. This Prevent Training is suitable for those working in education and childcare.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Learn about what Prevent Duty is and the definitions of terrorism and extremism
- Learn about the 4 R’s of child protection
- Learn how to respond to, report and record cases of radicalisation
SECTION 1
This section takes a look at the first of the 4 R’s of child protection – recognise. We highlight what terrorism and extremism are, why children and young people can be vulnerable to radicalisation, and we take a look at the warning signs that suggest radicalisation could be taking place.
SECTION 2
Prevent Duty should be approached in a risk-based way. Your organisation will be aware of the risk of radicalisation in your workplace and this should be communicated to you. In this second and final section, we look at the other three Rs of child protection in relation to the Prevent Duty – respond, record and report.
