Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate in Wound Care for Practice Nurses. This equips you with the clinical knowledge and frameworks required for effective wound assessment and management. Practical competence, however, must be developed through supervised practice and consolidation in your workplace. You should progress to autonomous wound assessment only when both you and your employer are confident in your capability, in accordance with local policies, clinical governance requirements and service expectations.
This comprehensive ‘Wound Care for Practice Nurses’ course aims to equip practice nurses with the knowledge and skills necessary for proficient wound care, integrating evidence based research and current standards and guidelines with medico-legal considerations. Participants will learn about the classification of wounds, wound care assessment and be able to develop their knowledge and understanding on appropriate wound care management techniques and dressing choices.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants earn a certificate in Wound Management for Practice Nurses, providing a pathway to gain clinical competence and practice under supervision through hands-on experience and mentorship in practice.
