Absence reporting and accessing support

During your placement, if you need to report that you will be absent, it is important that you inform the practice team at the earliest point. At the latest this should be done first thing on the day of the absence. If at any point you require any extra support, you should also contact your practice educator in the first instance. Virtual sessions with the Health Academy Team

Throughout your placement you will have a mixture of virtual and face-to-face meetings scheduled with the Health Academy Team. The face-to-face sessions will be held at UWE Bristol – Glenside campus (details can be found in your main schedule). The virtual sessions will be held on Zoom. The link below is the link that you will need to access the Zoom meetings.

Please note: When accessing a Zoom meeting for this placement, you will need to have your camera on and access to microphone in every session. This is a mandatory requirement.

How to access virtual placement details

The six week virtual placement is a structured programme that will require you to work 9am – 5pm – Monday to Friday. This will include a range of types of working, including virtual group meetings, face-to-face group sessions, one-to-one meetings, self-directed project work and clinical face-to-face sessions.

Recording of placement hours

In the sections below, there is a section called ‘Student Diary’ – you will need to access this every day and complete this as guided. This in part will make up the evidence required for the practice team to confirm your hours. If this is not completed daily, your practice educator will not be able to sign off your hours

Week 1 – 3 – Creation of Anatomy & Physiology Lesson – UWE
Mid-point interview with Practice Educator – UWE
Week 3 – 5 – Creation of Clinical Assessment Lesson – UWE
Week 5 – Individual Assessments – UWE
Week 6 – Develop a ‘Final Assessment’ – UWE
Final meeting with Practice Educator & completion of CPAF
Final Day & Sign off of hours
