Who is this School Immunisation training suitable for?

The School Immunisation training packages are suitable for any healthcare professionals wishing to administer the School Immunisation vaccines. This will mainly be immunisation nurses working in schools but could be any other health care practitioner who is able to administer vaccines to school aged children.

 

So which School Immunisation vaccines and modules have we included in the training?

We have included the full set of School Immunisation vaccines currently used in schools in the UK:

  • Diphtheria
  • Tetanus
  • Polio
  • Human papillomavirus (HPV) (certain serotypes)
  • Meningococcal disease (certain serogroups)
  • Measles Mumps and Rubella (MMR vaccines for those who have missed their primary course)

What have we not included?

In this immunisation training course we do not cover Travel vaccines, Flu vaccines, or any other UK schedule vaccinations. Please purchase the relevant course packages or add-on courses from the main store area if you would like these included. 

We also have Basic Life support available in a separate course. 

 

Other considerations

Please also note that Public Health England (PHE) strongly recommended a period of supervised practice in addition to comprehensive training when the practitioner is new to immunisation. National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training for Registered Healthcare Practitioners (PHE).
