Description

This flu training 2024/25 course is suitable for any health professional that will be administering the Seasonal Influenza vaccinations in the 2024/25 season. It’s a Standalone Flu vaccine 2024/25 online course. For options including Annual Immunisation Updates and Courses for New Immunisers, see further down this description.

This course provides 2 hours of CPD.

 

Who is Flu training 2024/25 suitable for?

The Flu training packages are suitable for any healthcare professionals wishing to administer the annual flu vaccine. This could include practice nurses, pharmacists, occupational health clinicians or any other health care practitioner who is able to administer vaccines under a PGD or PSD.

So what Flu vaccines and modules have we included in the training?

We have include the full set of flu vaccine products available in the UK for the coming flu season:

  • Live attenuated influenza vaccine – LAIV
  • Quadrivalent influenza cell cultured vaccine – QIVc
  • High dose quadrivalent influenza vaccine – QIV-HD
  • Adjuvanted quadrivalent influenza vaccine – aQIV
  • Quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine – QIVe

Also included are the following modules:

  • Introduction to Seasonal Influenza
  • The nature of Flu
  • The UK Annual Flu Programme 2024/25
  • Simple summaries

We have included the full set of Covid-19 vaccines currently approved for use in the UK as well as the following modules:

Can this be combined with other Health Academy courses?

Yes, as well as being included for free with our Virtual and Face-to-Face flu training courses, you can also purchase this course and at checkout add on our Online ‘New Immunisers’ Foundation Course’ or our ‘Annual Immunisation Update Core Modules Course’ depending on your level of experience with vaccinating.

What have we not included?

In this immunisation training course we do not cover Travel vaccines, or any other UK schedule vaccinations. Please purchase the relevant course packages or add-on courses from the main store area if you would like these included.  We also have Basic Life support available in a separate course. 

Other considerations

Please also note that Public Health England (PHE) strongly recommended a period of supervised practice in addition to comprehensive training when the practitioner is new to immunisation.
