Yes, you will be issued with a certificate on successful completion of the course

This course provides the underpinning knowledge required for the safe administration of hydroxocobalamin, but completing the course alone does not give you legal authority or confirm that you are practically competent to administer B12 injections.

Before administering B12 injections independently, you must:

  • be working under an appropriate legal medicines framework, such as a Patient Specific Direction, prescription or, where applicable, a Patient Group Direction;
  • have completed formal practical injection technique training;
  • undertake supervised practice and be assessed as competent; and
  • have approval from your employer or clinical organisation, with appropriate governance and indemnity arrangements in place.

You must also ensure that administering B12 injections is within your role and scope of practice.

Learners and their employers are responsible for confirming the applicable professional, legal, prescribing, regulatory, governance and indemnity requirements before administration takes place.
