Yes. This course is designed as an annual update for practitioners who have already completed foundation immunisation training and are currently involved in, or returning to, vaccine delivery.

This package is made up of a core annual immunisation update course plus additional disease-specific modules.

The core annual immunisation update is approximately 3 hours and covers the key areas expected within an annual update, in line with the National Minimum Standards for Immunisation Training.

The additional modules are approximately 1 hour each and cover specific adult programme areas:

  • Shingles
  • Pneumococcal disease
  • RSV
  • Vitamin B12

The total CPD hours will depend on which modules you complete. Learners completing the core annual update only will receive 3 hours of CPD, while learners completing the full package, including all disease-specific modules and the bonus Vitamin B12 course, will receive up to 7 hours of CPD.

You should complete all modules relevant to the vaccines you deliver, or are expected to deliver, in practice. This helps ensure your training remains appropriate to your role, competence and local service requirements.

No. Seasonal Flu and COVID-19 modules are not included as standard in this package. These can be purchased separately as add-on modules, depending on the season and your training requirements.

Yes. Practitioners involved in vaccination should also complete appropriate Basic Life Support and anaphylaxis training in line with local and national requirements.

This is an update course for those with experience vaccinating. The course had been developed in line with National Minimum Standards for Vaccination Training (UKHSA) Guidelines. However It is important for all clinicians to undergo supervised practice in their workplace and only to practise autonomously when they and their employer are satisfied that they are competent to do so.

This is an online Annual Immunisation Update training course for HCSWs (Health Care Support Workers) with written assessment. It has been developed in line with the ‘National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Vaccination Training‘ – UKHSA.
