- Carry out sexual health risk assessments, and identify when persons are at risk of STIs
- Discuss the use of condoms, including when and how to use them
- Understand when to refer to specialist sexual health services
- Undertake the initial management of a safeguarding concern
What does the course cover?
People in your community look to you for sexual health services. This online course is designed to give you the knowledge and information you need to deliver sexual health services in primary care or community pharmacy environments. This introductory course will enable you to give advice in areas such as:
- Emergency hormonal contraception (EHC)
- Chlamydia screening (with EHC)
- STI kit “click and collect” service
- Condom distribution

- Basic anatomy and physiology
- Sexual health history-taking and risk assessment
- Providing emergency contraception
- Testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Condom distribution schemes
- Assessing vulnerable adults, children and young people

A very informative course but i wish there had been more content on the different types of testing ie: instant test and how to take.
