Welcome to this malaria course which is part of the ‘Health Academy Short Course’ series and provides clinicians with specific information relating to Malaria and arthropod-borne diseases.

So who is this malaria short course suitable for?

This course is suitable for anyone wishing to learn more about malaria.

What have we included in this short course?

We have designed the malaria short course to cover all the key information for understanding the fundamentals of the disease, and the available preventative methods including chemoprophylaxis.  The course follows the ABCD of Malaria format. You should complete the course in approximately 90 minutes

• Malaria – Awareness
• Malaria – Bite Prevention
• Preventing arthropod borne diseases
• Malaria – Chemoprophylaxis
• Malaria – Diagnosis

So what’s not included?

Please note: This is a stand alone Malaria short course.  It is therefore NOT a substitute for completing Travel Health Training.

We recommend completing a comprehensive Fundamentals of Travel Health course if you are going to be delivering a travel health service. This is in line with Good Practice Guidance for Providing a Travel Health Service (RGPSG, 2020).
