This GDPR Training course is for everyone who handles personal data. It provides a broad understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR – which is all about keeping personal data safe and protecting the interests of the people whose data it is. To date, we’ve helped over 400,000 people work towards GDPR compliance.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Understand the key principles of the General Data Protection Regulation
  • Learn how to handle data with integrity and confidentiality
  • Understand how the GDPR affects your role and what your data responsibilities are

SECTION 1

Right now, how many organisations do you think have access to your personal data? 10? 20 organisations? It’s probably a lot more than you think!  This section looks at what is included as personal data, what is meant by ‘processing’ this type of data and what rights each of us has over our own personal data.

SECTION 2

Everyone who uses personal data has to follow strict rules and you’ll learn about these as the principles of data protection. They’re important, as they help you and your organisation ensure that personal data is used in a way that protects the rights of the people whose data it is, and following them is key to complying with the GDPR. This section looks at each of the Principles of Data Protection in turn, covering privacy notices and fair processing notices and the need for explicit consent.

SECTION 3

In this section, we’re looking at who’s responsible for keeping personal information safe and how this can be done – such as through day-to-day good practice and good computer security. The sixth principle is all about keeping personal data safe and secure. It’s about protecting data from accidental or deliberate loss, destruction, damage or unauthorised access.
